July Jollity: Monthly Round up

Life Lately: My most exciting and wonderful news of the month was that one of my friend’s Lauren asked me to be a Godmother for her little baby Beatrice! I’ve never been asked by anyone before and I felt very honoured, the christening was a couple of weeks ago and baby Bea did so well. Afterwards, we popped to the gorgeous Magazine restaurant in Kensington and celebrated her special day with champagne and canapés in their pretty garden area.

The biggest blog news was of course my move from Blogger to WordPress and my redesign I honestly couldn’t be happier with the blog’s facelift and the improved functionality of the site. I’m still working on categorising all the posts but I’ve been told to not let it stress me as Rome wasn’t built in a day!

In other news Cision, the leading PR software provider, named SilverSpoon one of the UK’s top ten London Lifestyle blogs.

It was such an honour to be selected, especially given the other fantastic bloggers also named in the Top 10. It was actually a brilliant month for the ‘Spoon (as I affectionately call the blog) as BookaTable also named me one of their Top 50 Bloggers and Qosy selected me in their Top 50 Luxury blogs.

I’ve done a few guest spots on different websites and check Simone’s wonderful blog The Aussie Flashpacker to read my post on 10 Reasons to go on Honeymoon to French Polynesia and also a review of my favourite hotel ever, Singita Boulders, on Luxury Launches.

Restaurants of the Month: This month I enjoyed bottomless bubbles, salmon galore and some fab desserts at Salmontini with some of my favourite bloggers, I had an incredible Italian feast at L’Anima Cafe and delicious fresh fish at The World’s End Market.

I met up with Andrea and Kam for Japanese food at Flesh & Buns, a luxurious lunch with Mina at The Georgian restaurant at Harrods, and a sushi extravaganza at Oka with Jaime, Lauren, Polly and Andrea. I experienced the magic of Breakfast at Tiffany’s for the first time with a special showing at The Covent Garden Hotel which I went to with Steph and I had some delicious Peruvian food at Senor Ceviche. The most wonderful experience I had was my lunch at FERA at Claridge’s with Laurent Perrier, the food was incredible and I also had the chance to go into the kitchen and meet the chef himself.

Travels: Did you check out my travel personality test as part of the travel link up? If you didn’t take a look and let me know what your travel personality is, are you anything like me? As I write this I just got back from Cannes yesterday and I’ve got lots to fill you in on coming up in the coming weeks. The trip was totally different to any experiences that usually appear on my blog as it was a big family holiday rather than my usual more romantic travel posts.

I’ve now got 11 more sleeps until I head off to Bali and Singapore I can’t wait!! Check out my Bali throwback post to find out more about what I’ll be getting up to when I’m there and follow me on Instagram to see what’s happening along the way!

Blog Love: I’m always so impressed by Lloyd and Yaya’s blog Hand Luggage Only, they seem to travel everywhere, write prolifically and take stunning photos, check out their recent post on the Nordic Fjords. Kelly’s fantastic posts about the Intercontinental Hotel in Hong Kong really took me back to when I stayed there; I even mentioned it in my top ten rooms with a views. Other bloggers seriously fuelling my wanderlust are Jasiminne with her trip to Finland, Anna in New England and Polly’s incredible Italian honeymoon. Also huge congratulations to Lauren on her graduation and, of course Polly on her wedding.

Is anyone else trip planning for next year? Peru is very much on my mind for the spring…I just have to convince Mr S 🙂
