Mr Silver and I decided to start our honeymoon in one of my favourite cities, New York, New York! I’d already visited the Big Apple a couple of times but as it was Mr Silver’s first experience, I wanted to make sure it was a really special one and this meant choosing the perfect hotel.
Though I love a bit of old school luxury now and again, I knew the Waldorf Astoria and the Four Seasons wouldn’t be the right kind of places for our stay in New York. We wanted young, fun, buzzy and lively! Also somewhere unique with plenty of character and style. I did thorough research but with such an abundance of choice it was hard to make the decision. Our friends Gemma and Marc had got in engaged in New York and loved their hotel, The Gansevoort in the Meatpacking district, and when I looked on their website my decision was finally made.
I booked us into a suite as it was the first destination on our trip, and one I knew would be very special. The suite was gorgeously spacious with lots fabulous personal touches.
Such as monogrammed bathrobes,
pillow cases with our initials on them
and beautifully big living room
with a welcoming surprise!
We also loved the hotel’s public areas.

and enjoyed The Chester for breakfast. Sorry for the rouge blogger error! My camera case is in the photo…oops!
But best of all was the roof top pool and bar…
which turned into a lively nightclub in the evening.
There’s that pesky camera case again!!
And one thing the Gansevoort really knows is what you need when you come home from a big night out…
Complimentary champagne and homemade cookies. And another night it was cupcakes!
We couldn’t have chosen better than the Gansevoort, we loved the location in the Meatpacking District as we had lots of restaurants and bars to visit right outside our hotel. The vibe was young and fun which was exactly what we wanted from our New York hotel. I highly recommend it and would definitely return.
