Delicious Dishes at Henrietta Bistro, Covent Garden

I was invited to review Henrietta Bistro and my food was complimentary. I was not paid to visit and was not under contractual obligation to write this blog post or create content on any platform.

Having seen pictures of the Henrietta Hotel on Instagram, I was instantly drawn to the pretty interiors – rooms with soft pink furnishings, deep blue walls and pretty gold accents. An invitation to check out the main restaurant Henrietta Bistro was the perfect opportunity to see this dream designer boutique hotel in Covent Garden. The restaurant is just as pretty as the rest of the hotel, with plush velvet seats and rustic brick walls – it’s a cosy space and coupled with the incredible food on the menu, it doesn’t feel remotely like your standard hotel restaurant.
Our waitress suggested a (pregnancy friendly) chef’s selection starting with delicious Jamon croquetas, the perfect size snack to whet your appetite for Chef Sylvain Roucayrol cuisine which has origins in southwest France, Corsica and Basque country.

A roasted aubergine served with tahini and a nutty topping came next in our sharing selection – though I’m not generally a tahini fan, I still enjoyed the delicious smoky flesh of the aubergine.
Octopus in a piquant sauce with tomatoes appeared perfectly prepared and my friend enjoyed it but I didn’t actually try this one.
My favourite dish was the smoked mozzarella, datterino tomatoes and virgin olive oil, isn’t it a sign of a good place what they can do a simple classic dish so well?
Ibaïama pork balls with tomato sauce and feta was one of those heart warming dishes – perfect for the current rainy summer! And it was just ideal with the restaurant’s delicious sourdough bread. The rosemary fries were the ideal accompaniment and I think they were ordered by nearly every table!

The dessert was a beautiful strawberries and cream tart – personally I found the dried olives a little rogue and preferred the dish without but I still enjoyed it overall.
