November Notions: Monthly Round up

Life Lately: November is my birthday month and I had so much fun celebrating with Mr S, family and friends. We celebrated my birthday eve with a date night at super trendy new hot spot, Sexy Fish, had a delicious Israeli lunch at The Palomar and topped it all off with a party at Aqua Kyoto.DSC_33371
The most exciting moment for me this month blog-wise was being ranked one of the Top Ten Luxury Travel bloggers in the UK by Vuelio. Vuelio are the leading provider of PR software who list the most influential blogs across a variety of topics, interests and niches. The ranking is determined by an algorithm that takes into account social sharing, content, frequency, social media, design and interaction so needless to say I am very proud to have ranked especially alongside other prestigious blogs.
And there’s no better way to celebrate than with a bottle of bubbles! This month I met up with Amanda Thomson, the figurehead for Skinny Champagne, a fantastic fizz with no added sugar and lower in calories. The champagne itself is delicious and doesn’t have the tart edge that some zero dosage champagnes have. Amanda and I met in the Corner Room at Selfridge’s to enjoy a glass before heading up the gorgeous Forest Restaurant and Bar on the Roof to finish our bottle.DSC_3890
Speaking of booze, I also popped to the gorgeous French restaurant, Le Garrick for a glass of red to celebrate Beaujolais Day with my blogger friend Gary and Jenny and Sarah from Salt PR. We also enjoyed a delicious array of French dishes including scallops, escargot and calamari.

On a less calorific note I popped down to The Arts Club to get a sneak peek at Marie France Van Damme’s City to Resort Collection that has been designed exclusively for the One & Only Hotels.
The collection includes ten different pieces that can be styled to create multiple looks and day to night ensembles. Each piece is monochrome and carries a signature print using the most beautiful silk and chiffon fabrics.

I’m incredibly excited for Christmas and things are already looking festive in the Silver household with the delivery of our Harrods Christmas hamper. Christmas for us will be spent at home and I have my parents, in-laws, siblings and two of our nephews coming to our flat. Needless to say, the hamper will be well and truly raided!
And I’m also participating in the #12TipsofXmas with the Corinthia Hotel and Laurent-Perrier, my tip being make sure you eat lots of smoked salmon and drink lots of champagne.
Restaurants of the Month: This month I loved The Ivy and I visited the original West Street branch with some fellow luxury bloggers, as well experiencing an immense chocolate pudding at the new Ivy Café in Marylebone. DSC_3737
Another restaurant that I absolutely loved this moth is the recently refurbished Le Pont de la Tour, where I enjoyed a fantastic lunch and cocktails with Lauren from The Lifestyle Diaries.

Travels: Apologies for #InstaSpamming you with all my pictures from St Lucia but it really was one of the most gorgeous places I’ve ever visited. I’ve been to a few places this year which I felt were a little spoilt by becoming overly touristy but St Lucia maintains the charm and beauty of island life. DSC_1117
Our first hotel, Jade Mountain was one of the most unique hotels that I’ve ever stayed in. Each room or ‘sanctuary’ has only three walls with the fourth space being taken by a glorious infinity pool with a view of the Pitons. I simply fell in love with this place and I wrote about our arrival, followed by more details of our stay, a fantastic lunch on the beach and spotting dolphins on our boat trip. After leaving Jade Mountain we moved on to the stunning all white hotel, Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort. I’ve got loads more to tell you about this gorgeous property and more of our adventures in St Lucia coming up in December.

Closer to home, I’ve put together a luxurious guide to Mayfair with all my top choices for restaurants, hotels, bars and things to do, please check it out and let me know your favourite places in Mayfair.

Blog Love: In November I was loving reading about Emma’s dreamy experiences in Bordeaux, Tamsin’s beautiful Santorini sunsets and Elle’s stylish trip to New York. The restaurant that’s made it to my bucket list this month is the Ninth by Chef Jun Tunaka after reading Catherine’s #foodporn loaded post.

Finally a massive congratulations to one of my favourite blogging ladies, Katie Matthews who got engaged to her Gentleman, Ben Heath whilst on holiday in the Philippines. I’m expecting to see the world’s most Instagrammable wedding from this gorgeous pair.
