When I started SilverSpoon London I knew wanted it to be all about luxury: fast cars, sparkling diamonds, lobster and champagne! So when BMW invited me to an event that encompassed all these things I knew there was no need to think twice…
The British Super Car show at Salon Prive is a unique event that showcases the megabrands of the car world, displayed in the luxurious setting of the lawns at Syon Park. Mr Silver is something of super car fanatic (boys will be boys…) but sadly, he had a busy day of meetings so I had to take fellow luxury lover, my older sister Jen, instead…
When we arrived at Syon House we were greeted just how I like to be greeted…
By young men holding trays of champagne… and with a glass of Pommery in hand we made a beeline for the Boodles tent.
Where they kindly allowed us to try on some of their beautiful pieces…

Though at 80K I don’t think Mr S will be purchasing it off my Christmas wish list! Just about the only thing that could lure us away from these glittering rocks was the smell of the lobster barbecue coming from outside.
We were lucky that it was a beautiful day and sun shined brightly on us as we chowed down on our lobster and sipped our bubbles.
Syon House was a really gorgeous venue, the home of the Duke of Northumberland it really looks like a castle, and it was ideal for such a super luxurious event. The tickets included a very generous open bar serving Pommery Champagne, wines, beers, soft drinks and coffee, we were definitely good customers for them! Feeling rather too hot we sheltered under the hospitality tent to enjoy some more lobster and champers and got talking to a father and son who’d come down from Norwich for the event. We were seriously impressed that they’d hired a helicopter to take them to London for the day and their pilot was ‘parked’ in a neighbouring field.
As we were chatting the desserts came out: a passionfruit tart and a caramel chocolate mousse. The delicious food was by award-winning events catering company, Absolute Taste and our piled plates were a testament to how good the food was.
Then it was time for the real business of the day…

Now I’m not going to pretend to know anything about cars. In fact, I’ve lived in London for eight years and haven’t driven in all that time. I think when I finally start driving again I’m going to have to take some refresher lessons.

Every big name was there: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, BMW as well as some classic cars…

We even spied a few celebs at this uber high event including gold medallist Daley Thompson and singer and car fanatic Jay Kay, who I secretly papped!
Soon proceedings returned to something I know a bit more about…food!! And light afternoon tea was served:

Salon Prive is a three day event which culminates on the last day with the People’s Choice award, presented after voting by the visitors to the show.
I may not know much about cars but the event was so fun and glamorous and it was great to spot a few famous faces…but those sparkly diamonds were definitely the highlight 🙂
